Benji works as a SNAP Ed Coordinator on food access projects for Washington State University in Clallam County. With support from his office, the WSU Clallam County Extension, Benji and Compassion Clallam County are the North Olympic Peninsula’s main LFP effort organizers. In partnership with food banks and other service providers, these folks have successfully installed and stocked 7 LFP's over the last 8 months, and they are excited to continue!
Benji describes the effort’s lead volunteer carpenter, Michael Clemens, as “wonderfully talented and very dedicated to this project.” Working off the LFP Pilot specs, Michael worked up construction and cutting guides. The construction guide contains cost-saving suggestions like visiting your local architectural salvage yard and thorough documentation of key learnings from multiple builds of the same basic design. Questions about the guide? He’s willing to field them. Email us, and we’ll connect you.
A less experienced woodworker? They're thorough, with pictures and diagrams.
This is why the movement is all ours. All of us make it work and make it better.
Thanks, Benji. And thanks to all a part of the mini pantry movement on the North Olympic Peninsula, especially to one wonderfully talented and very dedicated volunteer carpenter.
